Located in the historic old Carlsville schoolhouse just 29 miles North of Hotel Stebbins right off Hwy. 42.

KEWAUNEE COUNTY JAIL MUSEUM (920) 388-7176 OR (920) 388-3858 - Built in 1876 as the Sherriff's office, residence and county jail. It is unique… and now houses fascinating displays of local history. Open Memorial Day thru Labor Day Noon to 4 p.m. and by appointment the remainder of the seasons. Located at 613 Dodge Street in Kewaunee, which is a short 10 to 15 minute drive from Algoma.

DOOR COUNTY MARITIME MUSEUM (920) 743-5958 - Located along the waterfront in Sturgeon Bay this museum features the city's shipbuilding history, a submarine periscope, and has an extensive gift shop with maritime items and collectibles.

DOOR COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM (920) 743-5809 - Upon entering the Scandinavian-style building, visitors are greeted with a spectacular natural history wildlife diorama featuring a life-sized beech tree and native species including over 90 birds, white-tailed deer, badger, fish, and more. One wing is devoted to the pioneer fire station with restored trucks and fire-fighting artifacts. Children of all ages may sit in a 1920 Oldsmobile fire engine. Voted "Best small museum in the Midwest" - Chicago Tribune. Located on 4th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay a short 20-mile drive from Algoma.

HISTORIC WALKING TOUR OF ALGOMA (920) 487-2041 - Take an hour-long tour of Algoma with a knowledgeable guide at a time that will fit into your plans. Learn the cities history and see first hand some of the grander sites of the town.

COUNTRY OVENS, LTD. (920) 856-6767 - See how natural dried Door County cherries turn out so perfectly. Gift and sampling is a favorite for travelers and locals alike. Located at 229 Main St., in Forestville a short 6-mile drive from Algoma.

RENARD'S CHEESE FACTORY & OUTLET STORE (920) 487-2825 - Offering early morning tours of the factory, which is located just north of Algoma on County Rd. "S". You can see the cheese making process and watch them cut the curds. Call ahead to assure a tour. Factory store offers great gift ideas and cheese related edibles. Best cheese around!

GOLFING
NORTHBROOK COUNTRY CLUB (920) 845-2383 - A beautifully maintained 18-hole golf course that incorporates wildlife habitat and other natural characteristics.  Open early spring until mid-November.

ALASKAN GOLF CLUB (920) 388-3940 - Challenging for a 9-hole Par 36 Golf Course! Located on Hwy. 42 approximately 7 miles south of Algoma. Open early spring until November.

IDLEWILD GOLF COURSE (920) 743-3334 - IdleWild boasts 18 holes of championship golf and was recently rated 4 stars as one of Golf Digest's "Places to Play."  Located in Sturgeon Bay near the airport this course is a short 20 miles from the Hotel Stebbins. Pro shop, lessons, and rentals are available.

BIKING & HIKING
AHNAPEE STATE TRAIL - This trail spans about 30 miles between Casco, Algoma and Sturgeon Bay and interconnects with miles and miles of trails in Door and Kewaunee County. The 8 to 10 foot wide Ahnapee trail has a firm surface for hiking and trail bikes. Maps are available at the Algoma Visitor Center.

KEWAUNEE COUNTY MOUNTAIN BICYCLE TRAILS - Winter Park provides 10 miles of single-track trails and runs through hilly and rolling woods and meadows. Located on Cty. F just north of Kewaunee and a short 10 miles from Algoma. The trail is designed for advanced mountain biking skills and may not be appropriate for all users; however, hiking and trail running is highly encouraged for all users. Trails are normally open by May 1st. More information can be found by calling the parks department at (920) 388-0444.

ATV'ing
RIVERVIEW ATV PARK (920) 388-0444 - 20 miles of ATV ONLY trails including 2 challenge courses. Located 2 miles north of Kewaunee and approximately 12 miles south of Hotel Stebbins. Helmets and WI registration required.

HORSEBACK RIDING

ORCHARDS & FARMS
WIENKE'S MARKET (920) 487-5722 or (920) 743-7014 - This family owned farm offers a wide variety of vegetables and fruits, canned goods, baked goods, homemade jams, bedding plants and is well-known for their cherries. For a fun afternoon the farm also has "pick your own" items available. Located on Cty "S" just north of Algoma.

HILLSIDE APPLES (920) 837-7440 - Apple orchard and pumpkin patch open Labor Day thru Halloween. Retail store with a wide selection of apples and free wagon rides during the harvesting season. Located on Hwy 54 about 5 miles south of Algoma.

DAIRY VIEW COUNTRY STORE (920) 743-9779 - Discover Door County's rural side and see cows being milked through a 28-foot viewing window, play on the barnyard slides, get lost in the corn maze and meet Cookie the Cow. Homemade ice cream and fudge made right on the farm. Open May - October with seasonal hours available November - April.

THE FARM (920) 743-6666 - A day full of fun for the family. Visit farm animals in their natural setting, feed goat kids and lambs, pick up a piglet, milk a goat, and check out the nature trails. Located 4 miles north of Sturgeon Bay on Hwy. 57.
